WORCESTER, MA - On a sunny day in Milford, ESGR Program Coordinator SFC Richard Reynolds presented a Statement of Support to owner of Machado Consulting, Helder Machado. The award recognized Machado Consulting for contributing to the national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America's National Guard and Reserve force.
During the brief ceremony, Mr. Machado signed a Statement of Support, joining numerous other employers in pledging to recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). When it comes to hiring, Machado Consulting specifically seeks prospects from the National Guard and Reserves who bring with them their leadership skills, fitness and professionalism under pressure. These traits and experience are assets to any company and are difficult to match.
Machado Consulting, based in Worcester, MA, provides IT support and services for small and growing businesses, providing network reliability and high-quality, responsive service for a flat fee. Helder Machado founded his business in 2001 in the basement of his home. Machado, a Major with the 151st Regional Support Group, based in Framingham, has doubled the size of his business annually.
The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR was ESGR Program Coordinator SFC Richard Reynolds.
